Welcome....
to The Chingford Directory, your local community magazine and
business directory.
After the cold and icy weather we have endured, this month is
the start of spring with longer, warmer days ahead and daffodils
and other spring flowers starting to bloom.
Dates for your diary to note are:
Saturday 13th - Sunday 14th March. Six Nations
Championship. International rugby competition with England, Wales,
Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy.
Sunday 14th March. St Patrick's Day Festival,
London
A celebration of Irish culture in London for St Patrick's Day (17
March) with a parade, festival of music and cultural performances.
See: www.london.gov.uk/stpatricksday.
Sunday 14th March. Mother's Day. A day for people
to think about and appreciate our mothers and a time for treats
like flowers, chocolates or a special day out.
Saturday 27th/Sunday 28th March - British Summer Time (BST)
starts. All clocks go forward 1 hour. The time change is during the
night: at 1am on Sunday morning the time changes to 2am. Mornings
become darker and afternoons and evenings lighter.
Chingford has plenty of choice for buying Mother's Day presents
with special offers and deals featured in the magazine. Individual
gifts are available at Vintage, in the Village Arcade, Station
Road. E4posters.com can print your digital images onto 100% cotton
canvas or photo paper and offers free local delivery in Waltham
Forest (phone 020 8279 4705 or visit www.e4posters.com). Fine foods
from the Deli Station in Station Road (020 020 8524 0694) and
pampering gifts like facial massages, Reflexology or Reiki sessions
are on offer. Paula Hair Designs in Kings Road, phone 020 8529 1505
can make appointments for hair styling and would also be much
appreciated. And The Artisan Bar and Grill in Hall Lane (020 8524
4355) are now taking bookings for Mothers Day.
