CHINGFORD & DISTRICT MODEL ENGINEERING CLUB

meets every Wednesday evening, May to September 1900hrs till dusk at the Track in Ridgeway Park, Peel Close, Old Church Road, E4. CHINGFORD PET RESCUE

We are a local voluntary pet rescue charity that is in desperate need of support. We need pet accessories, bric 'a' brac, blankets, towels and food donations to help us deal with the volume of animals that are being handed in to us. We are also looking for people to assist in fostering animals when they come to us. If you are thinking about buying a pet please phone us first as we have dogs and cats that are abandoned and need loving homes. CHINGFORD PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

Established in 1950, we meet each Monday evening at 8pm at the Horticultural Society's Hall in Larkshall Road (opposite Dale View Crescent). The aim of the society is to promote an interest in photography in all its aspects. We are interested in both film and digital photography, transparencies and prints. Evenings are varied with talks, demonstrations, lectures and competitions. All that is required to become a member is an interest in photography. Everyone is welcome from a complete beginner to those who are more experienced. The room is situated at ground level and is accessible to all. 1st XV are Essex's & North London's most successful amateur Rugby Club & over the last 3 seasons Chingford have come third in London North 2, narrowly missing promotion on each occasion. CHINGFORD TORA SHOTOKAN KARATE CLUB

We are a family run karate club and are part of the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB). The instructors are all 2nd, 3rd and 4th dans with many years teaching experience. Our members are all ages and abilities from beginners to black belts and we have many family groups. If you would like to get fit, improve your confidence, make new friends and are aged 6 or over why not come along for a free lesson, just wear comfortable clothes and arrive a few minutes before the class starts. KING GEORGE SAILING CLUB

located in Lee Valley Road, at the bottom of Kings Head Hill. The club opens every weekend 10 am until 4pm. In the summer same times plus Tuesday and Thursday evening May - Sept 6pm until sunset. Sailing and windsurfing take place on the reservoir. Courses are available, and all ages are catered for. You're never to old or young to start sailing or windsurfing. Our membership age ranges from 8 years to 78 years. This year's Open Days are on Saturdays 13th March, 15th May, 26th June, and 7th August. CHINGFORD CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCH

Visitors would be very welcome to our Sunday service of hymns, prayers and a sermon of readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook. Wednesday evening meetings are fairly informal with some readings, hymns and then members of the congregation tell how prayer brought healing of illness, relationships and other problems encountered in daily life. Sunday Service 11am - 1 hour, Sunday School 11am, Wednesday meeting 8pm - 1 hour. We also have a bookshop and a room for quiet thought and study open Monday 10.30-12.00 am and Friday 3.00-4.30pm.
