WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
Friday 2nd March. This year’s service will be held at 2 p.m. at SS. PETER & PAUL, C of E CHURCH, Chingford Green. The theme is “Let justice prevail”, and the service has been written by the Christian women of Malaysia. The women of Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church look forward to seeing many of you at this annual united service. All are welcome, men, women and young people.

BEGINNERS WALK/RUN SESSIONS OFFERED BY LOCAL RUNNING CLUB
Orion Harriers, Chingford’s local running club, is pleased to announce that following the success of the pilot new beginners walk/run sessions launched in September 2010 it is planning to launch a new series of sessions.
Sessions are aimed at beginners, with initial empasis on improving walking techniques then hopefully progressing on to running.  For those of you who already run a little bit and want to improve please come along too as we can accommodate you also.  Sessions will be run by qualified UKA coaches/Leaders in Running Fitness. CHAPEL END SAVOY PLAYERS
We are a friendly local operatic and dramatic group based in Walthamstow, specialising in the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, rehearsing on Tuesdays 8-10pm (all) and Wednesdays (principals) at St. John’s Church, Chingford Road, Walthamstow, E17 4LH.
We perform one opera annually in May in Snaresbrook and a number of other concerts throughout the year, including an annual winter concert, often featuring semi-staged performances of a variety of shows.  We also participate regularly in the fringe events of the annual International G&S Festival held in Buxton, Derbyshire.  We are always interested in hearing from potential new members, and are currently recruiting for our next show The Sorcerer in May 2011. All voices and levels of expertise are welcome. Membership is subject to a short informal audition.
We are also available for hire to perform Gilbert and Sullivan, Olde Tyme Music Hall and songs from popular musicals.

CHINGFORD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Reg Charity No. 303263 Tom Oakman Centre, 6a Weale Road (off Friday Hill West), Friday Hill, North Chingford, E4 6JL. The Chingford Community Association (CCA) was established in 1940 and exists to provide facilities for the benefit of the residents of Chingford and neighbours and to establish, manage and maintain a Community Centre to further that objective. We are currently looking for new clubs and classes to join us. We have several rooms for hire at attractive rates. The Tom Oakman Centre is warm, well lit, has access for wheelchairs, and its own car park. The nearest bus routes are 212 and 397. CHINGFORD HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Evening meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month from October to April at the Chingford Foundation School, Nevin Drive. Guest speakers give talks on a wide variety of historical subjects. Three coach trips to places of historical interest are organised each summer. CHINGFORD & DISTRICT MODEL ENGINEERING CLUB
meets every Wednesday evening, May to September 1900hrs till dusk at the Track in Ridgeway Park, Peel Close, Old Church Road, E4. From September to the end of April between 1900hrs and 2130hrs we meet at St Edmonds Hall, Larkswood Road, E4. Also EVERY Sunday morning we meet at the track in Ridgeway Park to carry out maintains. The Miniature Railway runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from April to September 1400hrs to 1730hrs.

CHINGFORD CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCH

CHINGFORD PET RESCUE
We are a local voluntary pet rescue charity that is in desperate need of support. We need pet accessories, bric ‘a’ brac, blankets, towels and food donations to help us deal with the volume of animals that are being handed in to us. We are also looking for people to assist in fostering animals when they come to us. If you are thinking about buying a pet please phone us first as we have dogs and cats that are abandoned and need loving homes. We can collect any donations or you can drop them off to a local address.

CHINGFORD PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
Established in 1950, we meet each Monday evening at 8pm at the Horticultural Society’s Hall in Larkshall Road (opposite Dale View Crescent). The aim of the society is to promote an interest in photography in all its aspects. We are interested in both film and digital photography, transparencies and prints. Evenings are varied with talks, demonstrations, lectures and competitions. All that is required to become a member is an interest in photography. Everyone is welcome from a complete beginner to those who are more experienced. The room is situated at ground level and is accessible to all. CHINGFORD RUGBY CLUB
1st XV are Essex’s & North London’s most successful amateur Rugby Club & over the last 3 seasons Chingford have come third in London North 2, narrowly missing promotion on each occasion. Chingford run 3 Senior teams on a regular basis, and occasionally put out a 4th XV. Our Senior teams train every Tuesday & Thursday evening starting at 7.30pm, and play games on Saturday afternoons. Now in it’s 49th year. Chingford Wine Circle meets on a monthly basis to enjoy social evenings, often with guest speakers talking on a variety of subjects. The concert which is part of the 2012 Loughton Festival will be conducted by Alexander Campkin and comprises the following works: Zimbe – Alex L’Estrange, Mass for Life – Alexander Campkin, Spirituals – Michael Tippett, The Lion King – medley of songs.

There will be a retiring collection in support of Haven House Children’s Hospice.
